How are ya? My name is Renee King and I am the Queen of The Queen's Cups! I run a cupcake business out of my apartment right now but am doing all the business work behind the scenes to open my own little Cupcakery in Worcester, MA.
I love love love cupcakes and I love being creative. My father is a chef and has taught me a lot. He helped me start baking apple pies from scratch and took an interest in my passion for it (and an annoyance on how messy I can be when baking!) After the apple pie adventures, I decided to move on to something else and while bored one afternoon, I noticed that I had some chocolate cake mix and baked some chocolate cupcakes to bring to my friends house that night. I then realized I had raspberry preserves and chocolate chips. My favorite dessert is anything chocolate and raspberry. So, after the cupcakes were cooled, I cut out the middle and put in raspberry preserves with melted chocolate chips. I took the cupcakes to my friends house that night and had them try them. They enjoyed them a lot and needless to say, since that day, I created a list of things I thought would taste well together and keep bugging them with taste testers.
My one day of having nothing to do turned into a business where people are now ordering from me on a regular basis. I love what I do and miss it when I am not doing it. I lose sleep at night sometimes when I know the next day I will be able to create different cupcakes for my customers and loved ones to enjoy. I would do this for free if I could...that's how I know that I love it enough to make this into a real life goal: open my own bakery and surprise people with my talent and passion.
This blog will allow me to showcase the progression of my cupcakes, share recipes and ideas and post pictures that hopefully have you wanting one of my Queen's :)
